Anemone

Norma Cole is a poet, translator and visual artist. Her most recent books of poetry include Fate News, Actualities, Where Shadows Will, and Win These Poster and Other Unrelated Prizes Inside. TO BE AT MUSIC: Essays & Talks appeared in 2010. Her translations from French include Danielle Collobert’s It Then, Crosscut Universe: Writing on Writing from France and Jean Daive’s White Decimal. Her visual work has been shown at 2nd floor projects in San Francisco and the Berkeley Art Museum. Born in Toronto, Canada, Cole lives in the sanctuary city of San Francisco.

James Loop’s poetry and criticism has appeared or is forthcoming in Hyperallergic, Lambda Literary, Prelude, and elsewhere. He lives in New York and manages the Belladonna* Series.

Lucas de Lima is the author of Wet Land (Action Books) and the chapbook Terraputa (Birds of Lace). His writing has appeared or is forthcoming in PEN Poetry, Poetry Foundation, boundary2, Apogee, and anthologies pertaining to avant-garde and ecopoetics. He is a doctoral candidate at the University of Pennsylvania and the recipient of a fellowship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.

Kate Colby is author of seven books of poetry, including I Mean (Ugly Duckling Presse) and The Arrangements (Four Way Books). A new book of literary essays, Dream of the Trenches, is just out with Noemi Press. She lives in Providence, RI and teaches poetry at Brown University.

John William Narins holds that author biographies should be deceptive. He is a translator of the misunderstood and a distorter of several world poetic traditions. His poetry has been called an analytic verse—if so, it is an “analytic” accommodating spontaneity, suggestion, enigma. John is a poet, scholar, musician, artist, fencer, instigator, player, smoker, wanderer, candlestick maker, marksman, thinker, practical joker, sleepwalker, peacemaker, and a hopeless model for emulation.

Joshua Escobar a.k.a. DJ Ashtrae is the author of Caljforkya Voltage (No, Dear/Small Anchor Press) and XXOX FM (DoubleCross Press). He publishes the all-ages zine Orange Mercury. Bareback Nightfall, his first full-length collection, is forthcoming in 2020 from Noemi Press and Letras Latinas. A CantoMundo fellow, he lives with dj lil piñata in southern California. He will be reading at the Poetry Project with Jerika Marchan on May 17.
