People forget so easily. Artist’s cinema had been strong throughout the mid-20th century. We face a Renaissance, the art field discovers Hans Richter and others. That is fine but please don’t pretend that the art field unearthed something completely hidden. We have to consider the common roots of the art world and the film world.

At a certain point, art theory and film theory have to meet.

How to curate an exhibition on film? There should be ideas that go beyond Black Boxes. The time-based component of time-based art should be part of an art exhibition. It is all about bringing the idea of showing film together with the idea of doing an exhibition. There should be a certain experimental attitude towards changing the notion of these separate fields and bringing the two ways of exhibiting and showing together.
